Whats involved in set up?

We use various programs and software to run our social media campaigns. It can take us a couple of weeks to set these up. From scheduling software, to analytics, image creation tools, project areas etc etc, its alot to get organised. But once we have your login details for social media, you can expect to see the below set up for you.

Logins

The first thing we will be in touch about is your login details for social profiles. They all work in different ways: Facebook we will request access via facebook. On your Facebook page, you will see a notification come up (not on mobile though). Linked in you will need to give us admin access. The others, such as twitter and instagram, we will need you to send login details.

Support – Glip

We will send you an invite, with the email address you have given, to access glip.com. This is the program we use for messages, files, questions, images etc. Please use this instead of email. It is easier for us to keep track of everything via this. www.glip.com

Images and content

Whilst we are curating posts for you, it’s important we receive images and content from you. You need to send us regular images to use to keep your social profiles fresh and interesting, so please send everything you have via glip in the first week.

First month activity

So once we have set up all your accounts and login info/project area etc, we begin the first month of activity. This includes the following things we always work on:

Profile Set ups

Changing images, text, links etc on your social media profiles to aid in attracting visitors and activity and to help us track links.

Twitter Follower Build up

Following competitors followers, unfollowing profiles that are not helpful to you, are not active, spam accounts etc. We do alot of work in the first month to build up an active interested following.

Research

Alot of research happens in the first month, from reading competitors blogs, your industry articles, visiting rival websites etc. We find out as much about your audience and your company as we can. This will probably mean asking you lots of questions and requesting images etc to aid in this.

Posting

Obviously posting is a major one. We do not have a set way, or set direction in our posts in the first couple of months. It’s a little trial and error, testing different styles, from humour, informative, quotes, facts, promotional and more. You may not like everything we post and that’s fine, just let us know, but do remember we are posting for your audience. By the end of the first 2 or 3 months, we should have a clear idea of what interests your followers.

See below for our activity on each social media profile

This is not an exhaustive list, but it gives you an indication of the work we will be doing for you on your social media profiles.

Posting

We post 1-6 tweets day. A mixture of text posts, images and, if you have them, videos. The main rule we work on here is 1 promotional tweet (linking to a page on your website), to every 5 or 6 tweets. The rest are interesting articles, quotes, facts etc, generally about your industry, but also sometimes local news.

We create images, using various design tools. We use stock images, unless you have images and content you have supplied us.

Remember we are posting to attract interest. It may not be exactly the ideas you may have, but we do know in general the kind of tweets that work. We will not tweet anything political or likely to cause offence.

Scheduling

I expect you realise we don’t spend all day on your profiles, so scheduling is important. We write many of your updates ahead of time and queue them to post throughout the day, overnight, through the weekend, or any other time when we can’t be actively updating your accounts. We also look at the optimum time to post based on the activity that happens on your account.

Re-tweets

Often overlooked, but the main part of gaining followers, everyone likes their tweets being shared! So we will retweet based on hashtags often. Because we work on so many profiles, we cannot be too selective on the retweets, so do let us know if there any accounts you do not want to share. Being based on hashtags, sometimes tweets get through you would rather we hadn’t shared, let us know and we will get it taken down.

Likes

Again, everyone gets notified when their tweets are liked, so we do this on your behalf.  Many people who find out their tweet has been liked, check out the profile of that person, so its all good to help build your followers.

Mentions

We monitor mentions of your business and respond accordingly. We are not on your profiles 24/7 so we cannot guarantee how quickly we reply or comment on these, but we do follow and monitor and will let you know if its something you may need to deal with.

Following/Unfollowing

Time consuming but important. We follow hundreds of profiles on your behalf, but we also unfollow hundreds of profiles who aren’t following you. Your twitter business profile is there to gain you business, if someone isn’t following you, there is no point following them! Use a personal twitter profile if you are interested in using twitter as an information tool.

Analysing

Whats the point of posting if you don’t know if anyone is reading or sharing them? None, which is why we have dashboards, monthly reports and stats to show you. We keep an eye on the future of social media marketing and plan ahead so that we continue improving your social presence.

INTERACTION IS THE KEY TO TWITTER AND PROVIDING INTERESTING INFORMATION.

Posting

We post 1-2 posts a day. Mainly promotional posts along with some interesting articles about your industry, but also sometimes local news.

We create images, using various design tools. We use stock images, unless you have images and content you have supplied us.

The posts are generally longer than twitter posts, less hashtags.

Likes

We will look at liking various pages as your business, mainly pages that are either local or in your industry. We may also comment on some of these pages, the main idea here is to just show you are an expert in your field.

Facebook Boosts

If you have paid for this service with us, we would boost your Facebook page for 7 days, whilst also boosting one of your posts for 7 days as well. The audience we target will be for each individual case, so that the most suitable people are targeted, ensuring we have the highest engagement possible in return. For example, the variations we can control when targeting the right demographic are age, gender, interests and location.

Posting

In general, we post 4 or 5 images a week on your Instagram. We do need you to provide the majority of these. Instagram is all about the images, so the caption we tend to keep to quotes, brief text etc. As a comment, we add hashtags, up to 30 of them, based on the tags we think will give you the best reach.

Likes

Liking other people’s photos is important, so we do this every day. we like hundreds of photos on your behalf every week. We base it on hashtags of your industry, as we haven’t got time to be too fussy!, but we do make sure we like photos from different profiles all the time.

Comments

We do comment on some photos for you, mostly just using emoticons with a thumbs up, or smiley face etc. Its just about activity here.

Following/Unfollowing

As with twitter, following and unfollowing is vital. We follow profiles based on hashtags, usually hundreds each month, but we also unfollow the ones that don’t follow you back. You reach and engagement will increase in no time, just make sure to supply us with images.

The Aim

At the end of the day, the idea is to get people to buy your products, use your service, subscribe etc. That starts with regular activity on your social media. Which in turn should result in more visitors to your website, which then should hopefully mean more clients or customers.

Posts

Posts on their own won’t gain you many customers/clients. Posting just about your company or your products generally don’t work either. Interaction will. Informative posts on your industry will. Commenting on, mentioning, liking other people interested in your industry will also help.

Don’t be too conservative in your posts, trust us that we will work out what’s working and what isn’t. You may not like everything we favourite, or retweet, or follow, but our aim is to get you those sales, so let us experiment. We will stop doing something if it isn’t working.

The great thing about social media is also the most frustrating. Posts come and go and have an extremely short life span. So we use it to our advantage and try different approaches.

How long should we do this for?

Always! Social Media marketing is a constant daily action. We would suggest you use our services for at least 12 months to see an improvement in your revenue.
